چکیده
The demonstration of compliance aeronautical structures with certification requirements is generally based on the building block approach, considering tests from coupon level up to full-scale level. Coupon-scale are numerous and focused uniaxial loading target elementary failure modes, whereas submitted complex combined loadings, leading costly test campaigns thousands coupons. This paper considers intermediate-scale study structural issues at element Thin flat samples (558 × 536 mm2) made carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastic a large, sharp central notch 100 mm considered. VERTEX rig used apply loadings in tension, shear internal pressure. Metrics defined computed describe multiaxial state scenario samples. Pressure addition clearly precipitates first for but not tension tests. With or without pressure, tend show lower equivalent fluxes than

modelling of the indentation behaviour of thermoplastic honeycomb sandwich panels
thermoplastic honeycombs based on polypropylene are one of the latest types of cores used in sandwich structures. up to now there have been few experimental and modelling studies on the mechanical behaviour of sandwich structures with thermoplastic cores. in this paper, by considering the similar properties of foams and thermoplastic honeycombs, attempts are made to model the static indentation...
متن کاملStress-strain Response Modelling of Glass Fibre Reinforced Epoxy Composite Pipes under Multiaxial Loadings
This paper presents the modelling of stress strain response of glass fibre reinforced epoxy (GRE) composite pipes subjected to multiaxial loadings at room temperature (RT). This particular modelling work was developed to predict the non-linear stress strain response caused by the fatigue cyclic and static loading in the multiaxial ultimate elastic wall stress (UEWS) tests by considering the eff...
متن کاملBuckling of Carbon Nanotube - Reinforced Polymer Laminated Composite Materials Subjected to Axial Compression and Shear Loadings
A multi-scale method to predict the stiffness and stability properties of carbon nanotube-reinforced laminates has been developed. This method is used in the prediction of the buckling behavior of laminated carbon nanotube-polyethylene composites formed by stacking layers of carbon nanotube-reinforced polymer with the nanotube alignment axes of each layer oriented in different directions. Linki...

A polycyclic fatigue damage model for short glass fibre reinforced thermoplastics is developed and implemented into ABAQUS FE code using UMAT subroutine. The MNL model is introduced here in terms of damage rates: ( ) ) ( 2 0 1 2 0 2 1 2 1 1 ) ( ) ( N ij ij ij ij ij ij ij ij ij ij ij e E E N d d λ β ε γ ε β β α − − + + = ∂ ∂ = & (1) Where N is the number of cycles. αij, β...
متن کاملModelling the effective elasto-plastic properties of unidirectional composites reinforced by fibre bundles under transverse tension and shear loading
The effect of fibre bundling on the effective transverse properties of unidirectional fibre composites has been investigated by way of finite element method and micromechanics models of fibre bundles. Based on the micromechanical model of single-fibre composites, plane strain models for composites reinforced by fibre bundles are presented. The effective elasto-plastic stress /strain behaviour w...
